Some photos from the week!

I heart Mason's crate. He doesn't know what he's missing, exclaims
The Grey Pearl

My health.

For those who might be wondering, the verdict is in- I am strong as an ox! Yes, my adoring fans, I am healthy. My T4 might be a tad low, so the vet is doing a free T4 just to make sure. But even if I'm hypothyroid, the medication is inexpensive and I'll eat just about anything as long as it's mixed in with food!

And for those who didn't know...I'm also heartworm positive, and there are microfilaria floating around in there, but at my age, monthly Heartguard should do the trick.

Other than those two minor issues, I am just fabulous, dahling. I walk beautifully, have no trouble getting up and down the back four stairs (though I prefer one story homes, for obvious reasons). My coat is long and luxurious and fluffy and my skin is improving every day. My ear infection is clearing up, my eyes are shiny and full of life, and I love everyone!

The only sad thing is that every day when I go outside, I walk by the gate and pause, looking for my family. Someone loved me, once, and although my foster parents are all I could ask for, I deserve a family of my very own. Could it be you, asks,

The Grey Pearl

I'm available! (So is Mason)

Please pass these on to anyone you know who might be interested in adopting a beautifully seasoned girl like myself, or a young pup like Mason. We need families of our own, sighs

My bio:

This mature girl exudes Southern charm and grace, making her name, which means "pearl" in Greek, most befitting. Her luminous personality brings so much joy to her foster parents, as she was this close to being euthanized in a Clayton, GA facility through no fault of her own. Greta was wandering the streets, her coat bedraggled, her eyes dim, until she was impounded and caught the eye of Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue who helped organize her escape, along with her foster brother Mason. Greta loves scritches and pets, luxurious baths, peanut butter, and breakfast in her bed...and lunch...and dinner...you'd be hard pressed to find a meal Greta didn't enjoy!. She has all of the fabulous traits a family could ever want; she is housebroken, crate trained, and gets along beautifully with children, and other dogs and cats. She gets around just fine, walks beautifully on a leash, loves going for car rides and is an all 'round wonderful companion. Greta is a rare gem indeed, and is ready to go to her forever home anytime. You can read more about Greta's adventures here: http://greta-thegreypearl.blogspot.com/. Adoption Fee: $200 Veterinary reference and Home Safety Check required prior to adoption.

And Mason's bio:

Meet Mason, a mischievous imp disguised in fifty-five pounds of German Shepherd clothing. Mason was saved only 24 hours before being euthanized in the Clayton, GA animal control facility; he did nothing wrong to land him there, there are simply too many dogs and not enough homes. At only eight months old, Mason is still very much a puppy. This shrewd little sprite is smart as a whip and sharp as a tack; he learned to sit and lay down in thirty minutes flat! With the proper guidance, Mason would excel at performance sports like obedience, agility, flyball, or any number of fun activities. Fetching is a favorite pastime, as is just about any activity that involves running, jumping, playing or wrasslin'. Riding in the car is pretty nice, too! Mason is super affectionate and loves his people. Mason's forever home should plan on spending lots of quality time with him so he never feels abandoned again. A fenced in yard is requirement for adoption and Mason gets along with other dogs very well. Housebreaking and crate training are works in progress, but Mason is up to date on shots, neutered, and can join you on your sofa anytime. Adoption Fee: $250 Veterinary Reference and Home Safety Check required prior to adoption.

An adventurous week.

Tonight I ate an entire bully stick all by myself. And none of the other dogs even looked twice. Seniority has it's perks!

And two days ago I busted through my foster mother's fence. I just wanted to say hello to an oodle creature- golden, lab, who knows. She was being walked by a lovely girl and they smelled REALLY good, so I just had to get through to them. And I did. And it was good. My foster mom freaked out, but honestly, these old bones wouldn't have gone very far. Nevertheless, she watches like a hawk now whenever I get too close to the fence. Hee :D

On my foster mom's list for this weekend- bolstering the picket fence. Oops! blushes,

Greta's and Mason's Day Out

May I introduce you to my foster brother, Mason? He and I were both pulled from the same Clayton, GA shelter by the fantabulous French Bulldog Rescue Network volunteer for Southern Cross Rescue Network. Mason and I had quite the afternoon- we went to meet some adoring fans and had oodles of fun.
Just nine days ago, the clock was ticking on Mason and I, but now, time is definitely on our side. Yes it is, sings
The Grey Pearl

Do not disturb.

This is the life, sighs

I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair.

Yesterday was spa day, and oh. my. gosh. did I enjoy it. The cool water felt so nice and the triple dip (Buddy wash, then Malesseb) totally relieved my itchies. My fur smelled delightful and because I also relieved myself outside right before retiring for the evening, I was allowed on that oh-so-coveted place, the human bed. I felt so lucky to be there that I hardly moved, except to snuggle in close to my foster parents and siblings. Yesterday was a great day, sighs
